Today's Lesson Update

In today's lesson, I again worked on my templates for my DPS, FC and Contents. However, in this lesson I finalised my official template and layout for my contents page, and front cover and started to work on the journalism for my DPS introduction pages.

For my front cover, I started a new template based on my old one however I made this the real one I would use for my actual magazine cover. I added rulers for the sides of the template to ensure that all of the magazine front cover conventions get put on, unlike what I did for the first template, and also slightly changed the colour scheme:

This was the start if my new template, however I changed the yellow colour to more of a gold one in this which is going to be my official magazine cover (after I have taken and added the cover star). I may also change the addition of a pull-out quote on the final version:

I then moved onto my contents page , in which I completely changed the layout of it and started adding the contents. I moved around the images and the text to make a layout which fit a lot of images but still had a the contents in a nice structure as well as added my first picture to test out how it looked:

However, sir said that the place had too much "blank space" which needed to be filled up and gave me pointers onto what to add which led to this template:

Then after I started planning for the pictures by adding the little numbers by the side according to the articles on my flat plan:

This is what my Contents page looks like so far:

Lastly, I continued on with my DPS's introductory pages:

I started off with a pink colour for these pages however, I thought it was too bright and as this magazine is linked to hip hop and also wants male readers, it isn't very conventional therefore I changed it to a burgundy colour as it is dark so can fit to hip hop and still be okay for males however still highlights the femininity of my DPS's star and attracts a female audience. I also wrote a short stand-first about the pages:
